  1st January 1982   Established as a unit within the Establishment Department
  1st September 1986   Transferred to the Prime Minister’s Office
  1st January 1990 Established as as department namely Management Services Department and Government Security
  1 August 1990 untill now Department name was changed to Management Services Department
